Today we are going to talk about three main signs that a cat is in heat. There are several changes in behavior, that you will not miss after reading this article. So, what are they?
5 Signs Your Cat Is in Heat
The оne thing for you to know is that if your pets have their tail off to the side and are in this position like a downward dog looking then they are definitely in heat. Another thing that goes with that is that sometimes feline will do this shuffling thing with their feet where they sort of pick them up and down and that is definitely another sign that your cat is in heat.
The third thing that female cats generally do a lot is they flop on their sides, or they roll over. Basically, they do this to show males that they are ready to mate. Your pet could be spayed or neutered or even male and still do all the things listed above. And that’s just because kitties show their affection in this way. They expose all of their sensitive body parts to you to show that they trust you.
While being in heat female cats can also have behavioral changes and changes in the level of aggression.
The last major sign that your cat is in heat is that she’s whining or screaming at doors and trying to get out and be with other pets.
Your cats can just be tired of being in a room and that’s why they are whining. But if you see the other signs occurring, she is actually in heat.
Do You Really Need More Kittens?
By creating more and more kittens you are creating a larger problem. Because if your kittens find homes that subtracts the number of homes that there are left for kittens from shelters. Then those kittens will have to be euthanized sadly.
Also, as most of you probably know cats do not have pain medication when they’re giving birth. So it’s excruciatingly painful for young kittens that can give birth from ages eight weeks old to have to go through that. By getting your cat spayed you’re not only preventing a problem but you are also giving your pet many health benefits. Just make sure, you are giving them a proper cat food.
